It’s almost June and it feels like we can never catch up here at Bugling Elk but we were able to get all of our white wine during the grape stomp bottled over the last two weeks. Remember to ask for you discount if you were part of the grape stomp last Fall.

4th Annual Golf Fiesta Tournament was postponed due to inclement weather and now is on Friday, 31 May held again at the Four Mile Ranch Golf Club. As our inventory of Crimson Cabernet 2022 and Merlot 2022 (Whiskey Barrel Aged) ran out we have brought onboard our much-waited Velvet Red Blend that has been aging in a ‘Art of the Spirit’ 26 yr whiskey barrel (it definitely lived up to the rave). We have recently bottled our Cabernet Doré (Whiskey Barrel Aged), regular Cab Doré, Traminette (from grape stomp and our dry Riesling (also from grape stomp).

Bugling Elk Vineyards and Winery was established in 2018 by Shawn and Alexis Kauffman. Shawn was in the Army and served as a Special Forces Operator who retired after 26 years. They initially planted over 1400 Malbec grape vines in the Spring of 2018 hoping to produce a high-altitude grape that rivals with those coming from Argentina. They will continue their endeavor in maturing their grapevines over the coming years, while also focusing on establishing their winery and tasting room which will be opened to the public in late Spring 2023.

The Kauffmans are hoping to continue building a more pronounced grape and wine culture in Fremont County which they came to love while stationed in Germany. Being around grapes, producing wine, and sharing a glass of wine has always been a great way to spend quality time with friends and family. We hope you enjoy our wine with your friends and family.
